Work to replace the street lighting along the A31 between Ferndown and St Leonard’s will be continuing during the early part of 2022.
We are working with Dorset County Council, Hampshire County Council and contractors for other ongoing road projects in the area, to ensure collaboration and keep overall disruption to a minimum.
Our next phase of closures is currently scheduled to take place overnight from Wednesday 26 January to Saturday 19 February 2022. These closures will be in place between 9pm and 6am, Monday to Saturday nights only.
The A31 will be closed eastbound, from the Palmersford roundabout to the Boundary Lane roundabout. A signed diversion will be in place via A347 Ringwood Road, A347 New Road, Whitelegg Way, Castle Lane West, then the A338 north to head back to the A31.
Once further closures have been confirmed, we will again provide you with an update.
Please note that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Closures will also be advertised on yellow signs placed in advance alongside the A31, on our South-East Twitter page (@HighwaysSEAST) and on our webpage https://highwaysengland.co.uk/se-maintenance
We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption you may experience during this work. If you have any questions, or if you would like to know about our work, please contact us on 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk.
