St Leonards and St Ives Parish Council

Welcome to St Leonards & St Ives Parish Council

We are a medium sized Parish Council in Dorset close to the border with Hampshire and nearby towns of Ringwood, Ferndown, Bournemouth and Poole, with an electorate of just over 7,000.

We have a large amount of land designated as SSSI (Site of special scientific Interest). The Parish Council formed in 1933 and the Parish has grown from 50 residents in 1906 to 6672 (2001 census). The Council has an elected body of 12 members who are all volunteers. The Parish Council meet on the last Wednesday of each month except December. The Planning Committee meet every 3 weeks.

Broadband and Mobile Improvement Update

Following further positive meetings with representatives of Trooli, they have now confirmed their intent to offer an ultra-fast (full fibre) service to a significant number ( approximately 700) of residential properties in the parish.

The addresses (sadly none of which are south of the A31) are available in the pdf document (link here?). The list is sorted by post code so you can easily scan down the list to see if your property is included.

This is the next phase of their planned roll-out. This will take up to six months before they can install the service as they are required to obtain licences from SSE in order to make use of the poles in the area. SSE, sadly, seem to take longer than other similar utility organisations to process these applications.

Trooli have indicated that they are also working on plans for further phases from later in the year and into 2026. They have agreed to look into the feasibility of including properties south of the A31 in future phases.

Please note that installation to individual properties will be subject to more detailed survey at the time.

The Parish Council does not have any commercial arrangement with Trooli and our stance is neutral in relation to organisations offering ultra-fast broadband. However, at this point in time Trooli are the only organisation active in the parish and in a position to offer a service to residents.

If you are interested in signing up with Trooli the best approach is to contact their local representative, Andy Hebblethwaite, on 07902 468814/email: Andy.Hebblethwaite@trooli.com rather than any central contact.
